Dave works as a Research Fellow at Trinity College Dublin. He specialises in the mathematical modelling of ecological frameworks, the meta-analysis of complex datasets, the genetic, morphological and vocal analysis of birds and the movement ecology of badgers. In the lab, he has adapted established protocols to sequence novel bird populations and played a leading role in the description of four new bird species. His fieldwork spans several decades and continents, with extensive experience in Europe, Africa and Asia.
