An international Panel of Academic Specialists is currently being recruited with expertise in different eco-regions, habitats, and skills such as GIS and remote sensing, eDNA, AI and other survey techniques.  This Panel will be available for consultation over specific elements of both stage 1 and stage 2 reviews.

For stage 1 reviews the Core Review team will be commissioning at least one 1 man day of input from Panel members although this could be two specialists for half days if needed.  For stage 2 verification audits the Core Review team will have access to up to 2.5 days of assistance from nominated Panel members.   In both types of review this consultation time can be extended if needed.

The Core review team will supervise all stage 1 and stage 2 reviews and ensure that there is consistency in approach across all applications.  This will be a small group of academics and practising ecologists who can act as “reviewers-in-chief”, taking the lead on individual applications by identifying and recruiting suitable reviewers from the Panel of Academic Specialists, ensuring deadlines are met, and collating reviews into a final report.
